Greece and Turkey
Yahsoo - Merhaba.
The classic phrases "crossroads of civilisations" and "bridge between Europe and Asia", ring true when talking about Turkey. Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Crusader and Ottoman cultures have all left their mark.
From the historical cities to the small villages you will be warmly welcomed with the greeting ‘Merhaba’. You are invited to drink tea and enjoy the hospitality of this fascinating country. As you travel across the country, you will learn of the ancient cultural heritage and experience a diverse range of sights. Most educational tours will start in historic Istanbul. You will marvel at the famous Topkapi Palace, which served as the administrative centre of the Ottoman Empire for nearly 400 years and contains the exquisite harem. Visit Aya Sofya, where you will be spellbound by the beauty of the Byzantine mosaics. Another highlight is the Sultanahmet Mosque, known as the Blue Mosque, it was built in the classic Turkish architectural style with its magnificent interior paneling of blue and white Iznik tiles. And then for some leisure time, wonder through the labyrinthine of passageways in the Grand Bazaar. From here you will be enticed into the Spice Market to experience the sights and sounds of this exotic city.
Beyond Istanbul, there are a wealth of historical cities and towns to visit. We can organise a trip to Ankara, the capital and country's second largest city, or you may wish to tour Cappadocia, the natural wonder in central Anatolia, which was created by the eruptions of volcanoes and where the inhabitants carved their underground cities into the rock. We can also arrange a tour to the ruins of Ephesus, which is one of the world’s greatest archaeological sites. Travelling through Turkey is a unique and wonderful adventure.
